Sekishiro Mico (堰代ミコ) is a Japanese Vtuber affiliated with the vtuber agency 774inc., pronounced Nanashiinku (ななしいんく), part of the company's branch group HoneyStrap, pronounced Haniisutorappu (ハニーストラップ), also shortened as Hanisuto (ㇵにスト).

Debuted in July 14th, 2018, she is a 155cm (5'-1") demon with short dull green hair, black horns, and a light blue eye with a black eyepatch that has a dull gold pattern on it. She is known for her unconventional way of thinking, resulting in competitions where other group members and viewers try to guess what she would do in a given situation. She is also very good at voice acting, voicing fake movie trailers and visual novel-like streams.

The figure was manufactured. sculpted and painted by Wanderer (わんだらー). They are a figure goods manufacturer based in Shizuoka. Some of their recent projects as of writing this article are a figure of Hayase Yuuka from Blue Archive, a figure of both Mari Makinami and Asuka Langley from Shin Evangelion Theatrical Version, and Jeanne d'Arc Original Glasses Version from Fate/Apocrypha Ruler, all of them 1/7th scale. Although relatively new to the scale figure market, they have found themselves with projects from IPs with high demand.

Since the Honeystrap figure collection was released in 2022 for a limited time, all of the figures were acquired from second hand. That being said, from what I could inspect on all of them they only have like a minor, almost invisible, scratch on the surface.

The box has a simple, but charming design. The main color of the box is a dark green with gold accents on the edges of the box and window areas. The front of the box has a window that shows the upper-half of the figure. In the lower left it presents the logo of the brand and in a big serif style font the name of the talent. In the lower right it presents the artwork that was used for reference. On both sides of the box, we have a window shaped like Mico's logo which is represented in her signature eyepatch and tail. Lastly, on the back of the box we have a photo of the front and back of the figure.

For the base they opted for a black circular stage-themed base. It has a little step as if the talent was walking up on stage. At the center of the base we have Mico's logo along with her signature green color. Around it we have a circular pattern and at the bottom center her name in the same font as we saw on the box.

The figure came with a special card written and signed by Mico along with a QR code that gives you a bonus content. However, at the time of writing this the QR code leads to a page where it displays 404 code. Nonetheless it is a nice touch to her fans.

The figure in general is rather simple. Mico's playful pose fits her fun and cool dramatic-like personality. Her signature dark green hair is well represented in the figure, as well as the more natural green from her belt. However, that cannot be said for the linings on her skirt and shirt, and the laces of her boots. These linings have a more brighter shade of green when compared to the original artwork. Although it does look good at first glance, it is very noticeable for a fan or someone that is comparing the product with the original reference. Maybe it was a color correction error during the process.

Getting more into detail, one of the prominent features of Mico is her eyepatch covering her right eye. The eyepatch has a dark colored and gold accents around it and in her logo which is greatly represented on the figure. The linings and creases on the clothes are very detailed which complements with the dynamic pose of the figure. The gold used on the end of the sleeves and the end of the tail has a good balance of highlighting these areas and still leaving room for the eye to explore the rest of the figure. Lastly, the subtle exposure of fabric in her socks and shirt can be easily overlook, but is also integral on completing her design.

Overall for a figure of the $100 to $120 price range it is greatly done. The figure follows the original design, albeit some subtle color changes on the accent color on the clothes; it captures the energy and personality of Mico as intended, and although subtle it is highly detailed. The two things I like the most about this figure is the pose and the details on her eyepatch and clothes. It is a very photogenic figure and I can't wait to try photographing it with other backgrounds and filters. Additionally, even though the figure was bought from second hand it looks as if it were new. So kudos to the first owner for taking care of it.

As for my next blog I plan to work on reviewing Suou Patra, former Honeystrap member and one of the most recognized vtuber idols in Japan. I really excited to work on her review and maybe invest on her figures post-transition to indie.
